JET OWNERSHIP VS. CHARTERING: MAKING THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOUR TRAVEL NEEDS

When you introduce jet ownership vs. chartering as a conversational topic, there are going to be differing views. Some individuals prefer the control offered by private jet ownership, while others choose the convenience of chartering. We welcome all private jets at Monmouth Jet Center, whether owned by charter companies, corporations, or private individuals. If you are unsure which option is best for your travel needs, we offer the following thoughts:

1. Cost Considerations: Initial Investment and Ongoing Expenses

The cost of private jet ownership is high, and the initial investment can run into millions of dollars depending on the type of jet you want, its features, capabilities, condition, and age. Then there are ongoing aviation-related expenses such as hangar space rental, inspections, fuel, maintenance, staffing, and more. If you decide to charter your plane out to recoup costs, you need to pay a management company to manage the process for you.

Depending on how often you fly, chartering a private jet can be a cost-effective option that can cost anywhere from $3,500 to $18,000 per hour depending on where you’re going, and the type of aircraft and crew required. This is ideal for anyone flying once and a while, that wants to avoid all the costs that come with Jet ownership.

2. Flexibility and Convenience: Availability and Scheduling

Private jet ownership costs might be counterbalanced by the convenience of travelling at your will. Although charter companies try to accommodate their client’s preferences, it doesn’t allow for the same conveniences as ownership. You might have to fly to your destination on a smaller private jet or at a time that does not fit your preferred schedule.

3. Maintenance and Management Responsibilities

Private jet ownership does come with management responsibilities. If you are able, you can hire a private aircraft management company that will handle all the essentials for you. If outsourcing the management is not an option you will have to handle all maintenance and management yourself, which can be timely and costly. When chartering a private jet from a reliable company, all you have to do is enjoy the flight.

 4. Privacy and Customization

The privacy offered by jet ownership is often non-negotiable for celebrities and other VIPs. With private jet chartering services, you might have to share the cabin with others unless you pay for the privilege of flying alone. We take privacy very seriously at Monmouth Jet Centre and practice comprehensive access control. If you own a private jet you can customise it however you want, if you travel mostly for business you could include a workspace.

Accessibility to a Diverse Fleet and Destinations

One of the benefits chartering has over private jet ownership is accessibility to a diverse fleet. You can charter a small single-engine jet for a weekend in Cape Cod or a larger private jet for a luxurious skiing holiday anywhere in the world. Although the destinations to which a privately owned jet can travel are only restricted by its range and fuel capacity, landing at small airports might be problematic.

We want to be your airport of choice, whatever you decide regarding jet ownership vs chartering. If you have any questions, please contact our team at Monmouth Jet Center today. We look forward to hearing from you.

Aviation safety is non-negotiable at Monmouth Jet Center. We are committed to providing professional aviation services and first-class amenities to all visiting aircraft and clients using Monmouth as their home airport. We are proud of our 7300 feet runway for non-commercial jets, which is longer than LaGuardia Airport’s. Let’s look in more detail at our commitment to aviation safety.

1. Safety Culture and Client-Centric Approach

At Monmouth Jet Center, we promote a safe culture that guarantees we always operate in the safest way possible and never take unnecessary risks. We ensure visitors and airplane hangar space owners do the same. Monmouth Executive Airport at Monmouth Jet Center has IATA (BLM), ICAO (KBLM), and FAA LID (BLM) codes.

We follow a client-centric approach, and our team will go the extra mile to accommodate our customer’s airport needs. Our FBO has all the professional services expected from a world-class jet center, including concierge services for passengers and operators and 24-hour fuel services. Monmouth Jet Center never charges a landing fee for military aircraft fuelling up at our facilities.

2. State-of-the-Art Aircraft Maintenance and Inspections

Aviation safety maintenance and inspections at Monmouth Jet Center are performed 24/7 by Metrix AV. 3. Highly Trained and Experienced Crew

Our aircraft charter services are offered by highly trained and experienced pilots and cabin crew. They are well versed in aviation safety procedures and follow the FAA legally mandated safety rules governing charter operators and pilots in the USA. Besides promoting safe aviation in our charter services, by managing risks, we also believe in providing the highest level of personalized service to make the flight as comfortable as possible for our clients.

4. Comprehensive Safety Protocols and Procedures

At Monmouth Jet Center, we adhere strictly to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety protocols and procedures, including their runway safety program and comprehensive access control. A safe runway is both the start and conclusion of a safe flight. That is why our airport rotating beacon, runway lights, and taxiway lights are on from dusk till dawn. We also follow relevant runway safety maintenance schedules to clean our runways, removing any debris placing aircraft at risk.

For Winter safety precautions, we offer 24-hour de-icing services to promote safety during take-off, as our truck is capable of dispensing type 1 and 4 Glycol to small, mid, and large size aircraft.

5. Ongoing Safety Training and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to ongoing safety training at Monmouth Jet Center as it is the only way to limit or, ideally, eliminate any accidents at our airport grounds. We want our personnel, clients, and aircraft to stay safe and will implement protocols and measures on an ongoing basis to improve safety in the workplace.
